Outline of a Typical Day
Choral Singing Workshop
The days begin at 9:30 am with a 45-minute group vocal technique class with Muriel Ferraro or Maarten Koningsberger: posture, breathing, vocal technique according to a pre-established progression throughout the week.
Then, until 1:00 p.m., choir members work with Philippe Le Fèvre on the musical program, accompanied by Stefano Intrieri. Rehearsals resume at 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
At 3:30 p.m., in tutti or by section, choir members take a vocal technique course with Muriel Ferraro or Maarten Koningsberger. The Summer Academy choral training course attaches particular importance to vocal quality and gives the choir members the maximum amount of time to work on vocal technique to achieve this.
Saturday afternoons offer everyone a break from rehearsals and singing lessons.
Choristers receive their scores by e-mail before the course, and have access to audio files to help them prepare for the course. It is imperative that the scores have been worked on by everyone prior to the choral workshop, so that the week can be devoted solely to musical work and not to deciphering!
At the beginning of July, work sessions will be organized in groups. Choir members living in the Paris region will be able to attend in person, while others will be able to participate by video.
Vocal Singing Workshop
The day begins with a group vocal technique class, which also serves as a warm-up. The workshop then continues with individual singing lessons, coaching sessions with a vocal coach, and chamber music work. Each day ends with a masterclass attended by all singing students. Once during the week, the choral workshop participants also attend this masterclass.
Vocal Coach / Répétiteur Workshop
The daily schedule of each participant depends on their level. Each day, they will receive an individual lesson (focusing on technique and interpretation specific to the instrument and/or continuo practice) and will accompany solo singers and/or the choir, always under the guidance of one of the Academy’s two vocal coaches.
If technically advanced enough, participants may also work independently with certain singers or with the choir, under the direction of the choir conductor.
Accomodation
The Academy (tuition, rehearsals, lodging and dining) takes place in « Casa Sant Felip Neri », an ancient convent. Located in the quiet residential district of la Sarria, Casa Sant Felip Neri is 300m from the underground station and 10mins from the Catalunya Square and historical area.
Full board is provided from the dinner of Tuesday 18 August to the breakfast of Wednesday 26 August 2026.
3 different options are available for your accommodation :
- Ensuite Double room (two single beds)
- Single room, shared bathroom (washbasin in the room)
- Double room, shared bathroom (washbasin in the room)
- Triple room (with reservations) : 430 € per person
Linen and towels are provided; bed linen will be changed once during the week. Toiletries are not provided.
Rooms may be available one or more days before or after the Academy (no meals), subject to availability.
Air-conditioning : The main rehearsal room can be air-conditioned if necessary.
Prices
Tuition fees are 390 €, and include membership.
If students should be accompanied by a person who does not participate in the programs but would like to be accommodated with them, then a membership fee of 30 € is due.

Please take note that 4 evening meals in the week are not included, so that students may enjoy Barcelona at night!
10 € per day (70 € for the whole academy) will be asked to students who should decide not to be accommodated in Casa Sant Felip Neri, as a participation for renting the rehearsal rooms. This fee does not apply for members of the Moviment Coral Català and for dancers.
